2023/2024 SCOTTISH LEAGUE CUP
Group Stages 10th September 2022
Ayrshire Tigers travelled to the Dundee Regional Performance Centre in Dundee on the 10th September 2022 to compete in the League Cup Group Stages.
Five clubs from across Scotland took part with Tayside Dynamos and Dundee United Dynamos representing Dundee, Ayrshire Tigers from Ayrshire, Strathclyde Alba from Cumbernauld and finally Lothian Wolves from Edinburgh.
The sides all competed against each other in a round robin format with Tayside, Strathclyde and Lothian Wolves advancing to the League Cup Finals which will take place in 2024. Ayrshire Tigers and Dundee United will meet in the League Cup Plate final in 2024.
Today marked the Tigers' first match day since the passing of former team captain and inspiration James Doull #17.
Great effort from the 4 Tigers' players (and their batteries) to complete 4 matches on the bounce. It was good to see the progress the team made in one busy day. Our best result and performance was a solid team display to earn a goalless draw against Lothian Wolves.
Niven led the team for the first time as new club captain with Torrance as team vice-captain. All players including Robb and Ahmed seized the opportunity to play in different positions and adopt a new game plan as the team looks to rebuild for the season.
