Ayrshire Tigers is a Powerchair Football Club based in Ayr, Scotland. The club was established in January 2015 through a partnership between South Ayrshire Council and South Ayrshire Access to Sport in order to provide Powerchair Football opportunities to wheelchair users in Ayrshire.
The Club became an independent constituted organisation in August 2018 and in December 2018, Ayrshire Tigers Powerchair Football Club was granted charitable status as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) and is now a registered charity in Scotland. The Club runs a training sessions on a Tuesday evening at Kyle Academy in Ayr and our teams take part in National League and Cup competitions run by the Scottish Powerchair Football Association . The club is open to everyone and we would actively encourage powerchair users of all ages to come and try the sport for themselves. As a club we cater for all abilities, from beginners to those who have some experience of playing Powerchair Football. We welcome new members, so if you are a powerchair user and fancy coming along to see what we are all about, please get in touch. We have equipment available to allow those new to the sport to try it out. Ayrshire Tigers currently compete in the Scottish Championship. The club has had a team competing in the Scottish Powerchair Football League since the 2015/16 season. The team were Scottish Premiership runners-up in season 2017/18 and won their 1st trophy in season 2022/23 when they won the Scottish Championship. Last season they defended their title winning the Scottish championship for the second season in a row. This season the team will again be competing in the Scottish championship after losing their promotion play-off against Tayside Dynamos. The club is a member of the Scottish Powerchair Football League and is affiliated to the Scottish Powerchair Football Association.
