Regional Performance Centre Dundee
Sunday 26th January 2020, saw the Scottish Powerchair Football League Cup competition take place in Dundee at the all new Regional Performance Centre for Sport. The competition has a long standing tradition of being run in Dundee with assistance and support from Dundee City Disability Sport. The new venue proved a big hit with all who attended with first class accessible facilities throughout.
The day commenced with the group stages consisting of Clyde Alba, South Ayrshire Tigers, Riverside and Lothian Wolves in Group A with Tayside Dynamos, Clyde Caledonia and Glasgow Gladiators in Group B.
After a number of tightly fought games Clyde Alba and Tayside Dynamos emerged as group winners with Clyde Caledonia and South Ayrshire Tigers taking second place in each group. The 4 teams then battled it out for a spot in the final which saw another Tayside v's Alba final.
The final match ended 1-1 with goals from Kein Speed (Dynamos) and Connor McCole (Alba). A tense penalty shoot out resulted in Tayside Dynamos coming out on top 4-3 to retain the League Cup for another year.
