Scottish Championship Match Day 1
Ayrshire Tigers were beginning their Championship title defense with matches against FC United Warriors who were making their league debut and Dundee United Dynamos Dundee United Para-Sports Club (there nearest challengers last season).
The Tigers played Warriors first and won the game 4-0 with vice-captain Torrance scoring 3 goals and captain Niven providing 3 assists. The Warriors to be fair were hampered by availability issues and had a bit of bad luck in having only 3 players for a bit of the match due to a technical fault!
Next up were Dundee Utd Dynamos and in a pretty even contest the Tigers narrowly lost 1-0. However, the team were not too despondent as they knew they were still getting used to playing without team captain and talisman James Doull who sadly passed away in May. Hopefully, the Tigers will do James proud this season.
The Tigers finished the day with a Scottish Cup match against Strathclyde Caledonia. The Tigers comfortably won the game 9-0 with new player Rhys McNiven scoring a hat trick in only his 3rd game for the club. Well done Rhys! Cammy, Stuart, Idrees also scored two goals each.
We now look forward to the next league day on Sunday 19th November!
