Match Report

The Tigers got off to a great start in the 8th minute as they took an early lead through an OG by McNicol thanks to a quickly taken corner by Robertson. However, Boro quickly equalised straight from the restart through an unlucky OG by Doull. Boro then when close again to scoring after some great passing by McNicol and well timed strike by McKie but Robb produced a great save. Boro took a well deserved lead just before half-time after some great passing with Hanif scoring with a tap in at the back post. Half-time Tigers 1 - 2 Boro with not much between the two teams.

Just after the Tigers got the second half underway Boro went 3-1 up thanks to a great long pass to Found who scored at the near post past Paterson. A few minutes later Boro went 4-1 up after McNicol scored straight from a Tigers goal kick. Tigers reorganised and soon got a goal back after a hit in from Niven came off McNicol straight to Doull who scored in the far corner. Tigers 2 - Boro 4. Boro came close to scoring again from a long range shot by Found which was well saved by Torrance. Tigers reorganised again with Niven moving from the left wing into goal. Niven was soon called into action making a smart save from another audacious long range shot from Found. Tigers were soon under the cosh with Niven making saves from shots by McKie and McNicol. Tigers were struggling to get out of their own half and Boro's pressure was rewarded with Found scoring past Niven with a great long range strike from a hit in by Forster. Final Score Tigers 2 - Boro 5.

Congratulations to  Middlesbrough Powerchair Football Club for winning the inaugural "Twinning Trophy" it was well deserved!

Well done to Annmarie Robertson who got the award for best "Tigers" player and Found who was awarded the prize for best "Boro" player.
Amazing facilities at Largs with very welcoming staff who looked after both teams really well.

The event was a huge success and everyone really enjoyed socialising with Boro's players, coaches and their supporters. Thank you to Brian for refereeing the match and I know our player's really enjoyed Carolyn's training drills. The Tigers are looking forward to going down to Middlesbrough next year to try and win back the trophy.

Some photos from the weekend below.

A big thanks to Eddie and his team at the Ayrshire Film Company for filming the event.
P.S. Thanks to our head coach Adam for organising the prizes.
