2023 Scottish Cup
Ayrshire Tigers Powerchair Football Club played in the Scottish Cup on Sunday 30th April at The Peak, in Stirling. The Tigers squad for the Scottish Cup was Doull, Niven, Robb, Ahmed and Torrance.
The Tigers were drawn in a group with Dundee Utd and Tayside. Tayside were up first and despite the team playing well they lost the match 2-0 and needed to beat Dundee Utd in the next match to have a chance of reaching the semis. Against Dundee Utd the Tigers started slowly and conceded a soft goal early in the second half. The Tigers improved but still found themselves 1-0 at HT. However, the Tigers came out firing in the 2nd half and soon equalised. The Tigers dominated the 2nd half and scored 3 more goals to win the match 4-1. The Tigers place in the semis against Strathclyde Alba was confirmed when Tayside convincingly beat Dundee Utd in the next match.
Unfortunately, the Tigers lost their semi against Alba 2-0 despite playing well at times during the game but rarely threatened the Alba goal.
Despite this loss spirits were raised when the team were presented with the Scottish Powerchair Football Championship trophy.
